The Kathy Justice Girls Educational Foundation Liberia, in collaboration with CFNI and CARE Outreach, has successfully concluded a one-day training workshop for more than 60 school-going girls in Gbarnga, Bong County. The program brought together participants from five high schools across the county.
Speaking at the close of the training, the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of the Foundation, Mr. Thomas Maylord Saydee, explained that the workshop was organized to educate girls on safeguarding, self-worth, and awareness surrounding violence and abuse, particularly involving school administrators and teachers.
Mr. Saydee emphasized that the initiative is part of ongoing national efforts to address critical issues such as “sex for grades,” which continues to negatively impact the education and future of many girls in Liberia.
He reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to empowering girls, protecting their rights, and creating safe learning environments for all students. According to him, the organization also plans to train approximately 40 volunteers across various counties in June to strengthen efforts in reporting safeguarding and abuse-related cases.

Meanwhile, participants expressed appreciation to the Foundation and its partners for what they described as a timely and impactful initiative. The girls called on the organization to expand similar activities to rural communities across Liberia and pledged to share the knowledge gained with others in their schools and communities.
The Kathy Justice Girls Educational Foundation maintains a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of abuse and violence against women and girls in Liberia and around the world.
